24 x 24 acrylic and collage on canvas
The essence of my work is built upon the spontaneity and unpredictability found in the act of creation. I find immense joy in capturing the fleeting moments that arise when color, texture, and shape converge, each new painting becoming a celebration of these serendipitous instances.
My unique approach to painting is one of excavation, as much as it is of creation. I find immense satisfaction in the repurposing of previous palettes—cherished remnants of my past works. These fragments, each carrying a history of colors and patterns, serve as my raw material, embodying the emotional richness and creative journey of my earlier paintings.
Each piece I create is, in essence, an abstract symphony. I arrange the palettes, much like a musician would compose notes, allowing the colors, textures, and patterns to inform the painting's overall composition. This process is highly improvisational, intuitive and guided by the shapes and emotions that naturally emerge from the interplay of these collected moments.
The act of cutting, moving, and combining these older textures of color and paint strokes brings forth an unexpected dynamism, a delightful dance of old and new. In this harmony, a whimsical representation of a dog takes form—an abstract embodiment of joy, energy, and the pure, unencumbered spirit of these beloved creatures.
In this pursuit of spontaneity, my work offers a celebration of the moment, a revelry in the unpredictable beauty of creation. I invite the viewer to join me in this journey, to feel the resonances of past paintings, and to discover joy in the vibrant and ever-changing expression of this abstract dog.
