This painting captures the essence of serenity and connection between a dog and the natural world. Through an impressionistic lens, I have endeavored to portray a moment of pure tranquility. The dog, depicted in a state of peaceful solitude, gazes upwards, mesmerized by the effortless flight of white doves across the sky.
Set in an abstract, impressionistic landscape, the golden, warm hues of the field are intentionally chosen to radiate warmth and love. This scene is not just a visual feast but an emotional journey, evoking a sense of harmony and contentment.
The dog's posture and expression are pivotal in this narrative. It is that quintessential canine gesture of curiosity and alertness, often seen when they spot another animal or hear an intriguing sound. Yet, in this context, it transcends mere curiosity. It becomes a symbol of a carefree spirit and a deep, unspoken bond with nature.
Through this piece, I aim to convey more than just a visual story; it is an invitation to the viewer to experience the peace and tranquility that comes from a moment of connection with the natural world. This painting is not just an observation; it is an experience of finding peace in the simplest of moments.
"Lick'in Chops" is an abstract expressionist portrayal capturing the essence of a black Labrador Retriever's pure, affectionate bond with its human companion. This painting, evoking the moment when a dog communicates its love through the universal language of hunger, is crafted with a blend of simplicity and bold strokes, reminiscent of Cubist influences yet distinct in its transparency. This choice of style is deliberate, aiming to convey the underlying beauty, warmth, and unconditional love of the dog.
The artwork delves into the intricate relationship between pets and their owners, where even mundane moments like hunger become a medium of expression for deeper emotions. The Labrador, with its mouth open and tongue playfully out, as if licking its chops, is not just an animal waiting for food; it's a companion sharing a moment of joy and anticipation with its owner.
The transparent strokes, a unique twist in the painting, symbolize the purity and sincerity of the dog's feelings. Unlike opaque colors that define and confine, the transparency in this artwork allows the viewer to see through the layers, akin to seeing through the soul of the Labrador. This transparency is a metaphor for the unguarded, unpretentious love that dogs offer.
In "Lick'in Chops," the colors are more than mere visual elements; they are emotional cues. They dance across the canvas in a choreography that speaks of loyalty, companionship, and the simple joys of life shared with a four-legged friend. This painting is not just a visual experience but an emotional journey, inviting the viewer to reflect on the pure, uncomplicated love that animals bring into our lives.

In "A Plea for Treats," I explore the emotive power of abstract art through the lens of a unique canine character, a blend of Labrador, Staffordshire, and Pointer breeds. This painting captures a deeply personal moment — the heartwarming plea of a dog yearning for a snack. By choosing a low angle for the composition, I intended to amplify the dog's imploring gesture, placing viewers in a position that resonates with anyone who has ever been captivated by a pet's earnest request.
This work is particularly significant to me as it delves into the intersection of communication and emotion in animals. The dog's expression, poised at the brink of a bark, reflects a tempered yet hopeful anticipation, a universal feeling that transcends species. The choice to limit my palette to hot pink and black was deliberate, infusing the painting with an energy and joy reminiscent of street and pop art. This contrast enhances the vibrancy of the moment, while the depth of the strokes conveys the sincerity of the dog's plea.
Through "A Plea for Treats," I aim to evoke a sense of connection and empathy, highlighting the unspoken bonds we share with our animal companions. The painting stands as a testament to the simple, yet profound moments of everyday life, and the joy found in them.

There are many moments that are captured through photography or in memories that inspires me. I came across an image captured by photographer Marko Pekic who allowed me to paint an expression of that moment. The story of this expression is an abstract depiction of the profound bond between a dog and its owner, captured during a car ride.
There are many reasons that dog’s love to stick their heads out of the cars during the ride, but the central focus of this piece is the dog, radiating happiness as he looks out of the half-rolled down window, basking in the sensory delights of the outside world.
I wanted to emphasize the unspoken love and connection shared with his owner, with the light filtering through the window, with vibrant colors. And keep the interior of the car muted, with simplistic strokes, deliberately to draw attention to the dog's emotive state.
This piece is a celebration of those fleeting yet unforgettable moments that encapsulate the essence of our relationships with our pets, symbolizing the intangible yet powerful bonds of love and companionship.
I found myself deeply inspired by the inherent charm and distinctive features of the Basset Hound. My intention was to capture more than just the physical traits of this lovable breed; I wanted to evoke the emotional connection we share with our furry companions. With his eyes turned upwards, as if begging for a morsel of affection (or perhaps a treat), I aimed to embody the spirit and heart of the Basset Hound through my brush strokes.
I embraced a style that nods to the cubist movement, using simplified strokes of color to depict the intricate folds of his skin—a defining characteristic of the breed. This choice was deliberate, allowing me to express the depth and texture of his lovable, floppy ears and skin in a way that feels almost abstract, yet deeply connected to the essence of my subject.
I consciously chose to minimize the detail in his paws, focusing instead on the expression of his entire body. This, to me, was crucial in conveying the full emotional impact of his posture and gaze.
