Sometimes you make enough mistakes to warrant a painting. My approach to abstract expression is a journey of continuous exploration and discovery, where every alteration and modification serves to deepen the narrative of the artwork. This painting exemplifies this process, born from a series of transformations that have each contributed to its final form.
Over the course of a month, this painting underwent numerous changes, shifting between breeds and expressions. Rather than settling on a predetermined outcome, I embraced the evolving nature of the canvas, allowing each new iteration to guide the direction of the artwork.
This approach encourages uninhibited creativity and spontaneity in my work. Instead of adhering strictly to an initial vision, the fluidity of the process allows for a deeper exploration of artistic possibilities. Each return to the canvas brings fresh insights, as the painting continually presents itself in a new light.
In the end, the painting becomes a reflection of this dynamic process, its layers telling the story of its own evolution. Each transformation contributes to the richness of the final piece, culminating in an abstract expression that unveils itself in a unique and unexpected way.
Ultimately, my vision for abstract expression is about embracing the journey of creation. It is about the evolution of an idea, the dynamic process of transformation, and the personal growth that comes with it. This approach brings a depth and dynamism to my work, inviting viewers to engage with not only the final image, but also the artistic journey that led to it. 20” x 24” acrylic on wood panel
